Sonya Margarita Benemerito-Castillo is a co-founder and Senior Partner of KAPUNAN AND CASTILLO Law Offices. She handles a wide range of legal work, from litigation to advisory on various matters, in the fields of Civil and Family Law, Labor Laws, Intellectual Property Law, Immigration Law, Land Registration Law as well as Criminal Law.

She is a former Director of the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines from January 2007 to December 2013 and is currently a member thereof, including the Business Professional Women. She was also awarded as one of Philippines Top 100 Lawyers by the Asia Business Law Journal from 2018 to 2021.

Prior to her career in the private practice, she was Court Attorney V in the office of the late Justice Eduardo Montenegro of the Court of Appeals where she honed her skills in writing.

Sonya Margarita Benemerito-Castillo graduated from San Beda College of law in 1994 and was admitted to the Philippines bar in 1995.
